Vacation.
The Puisne Judge practically can take no vacation
here for with an average of 50 cases or over a week, an
absence of a month would land him in a hopeless mess. However
for the sake of the Registry staff I generally try and sit only
in the mornings during vacation. The result of vacations, so
far as I am concerned, has been that if the Chief Justice goes

Personal.
I hear it is stated that my time is not fully oc-
-cupied. I have explained how that may occur on some occasions
by cases not coming on for hearing. I think it only fair to my-
-self however to say that this is a statement which has been
made about me ever since I have been in the Colony, but that it
has never been made about any man who acted for me during my
absence and no complaint has, so far as I am aware, ever been

made
